Bennie Maurice Kersey, 81, of Coatesville, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1945 to Theodore and Esta (Zimpleman) Kersey in Greencastle, Indiana. He was a birth-right Quaker and a member of the Amo Friends Church. Bennie was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, he was a retired farmer who took pride in his cattle, and he owned the Amo Body shop for a number of years. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved his family deeply. Bennie is survived by his loving wife Kathy Kersey; his sister Marlene (Randy) Raisor; children Jeff Surber, Benji (Tracy) Surber, Alicia (Kevin) Monahan, and Jeannie Carr; step-children Robin (Jerd) Cameron and Bruce (Beth) Bateman; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Esta Kersey, and an infant brother. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Bousley Funeral Home from 11am to 2pm with funeral services to follow. He will be buried in Amo Cemetery with a graveside service following funeral services.
