Cristina Ashworth
In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cristina Ashworth early Saturday March 21, 2026.
Cristina dedicated her life to caring for others. As a Nurse Practitioner, she provided compassionate, skilled healthcare to communities across Indiana for more than 20 years. Her commitment to her patients and her profession reflected her generous spirit and deep desire to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
Born in Florida, Cristina lived there until college, when she moved to Indiana to pursue her calling in nursing. She attended Purdue University, Ball State University, and the University of Indianapolis, pursuing the education that would allow her to serve others through healthcare.
For almost two decades, Cristina bravely battled complications from lupus with remarkable strength and resilience. After a long and courageous fight, she held on as long as she could before peacefully succumbing to her illness.
Above all else, Cristina was a devoted mother. She leaves behind her beloved children, Alivia Menke, Ethan Edwards, and Isabella Edwards, who were the center of her world and her greatest pride. She is also survived by her loving parents, John and Diana; her devoted sister, Sara; her cherished dogs, Picasso and Opal.
Cristina had a joyful spirit and embraced the things she loved wholeheartedly. She was an avid knitter and found great happiness in creating handmade pieces for those she loved, with visits to Mass Ave Knitting among her favorite outings. She never missed an opportunity to see Kenny Chesney in concert and had a special love for Indian food. She also loved cheering on Ethan at his soccer games and Bella at her golf and softball events. Especially over the last few years, as her body was failing, she made sure to attend everything her body could handle.
Cristina was taken far too soon and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, patients, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In accordance with Cristina’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oinking Acres in her honor and in memory of her beloved pig, Hazel. They had graciously welcomed Hazel into their care but sadly she has passed since. Those wishing to remember Cristina in a special way are encouraged to visit the rescue.
Cristina’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the love she leaves behind.
