Danny Lynn Fortner, age 58, Coatesville, passed away Sunday afternoon at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA. on October 18, 1961. Danny worked as a diesel mechanic for Avon Community Schools. He loved to tinker, ride motorcycles, and anything mechanical. He was known for his swapping and trading skills, and his love of his family, which he considered to be anyone who crossed his path. He is survived by his wife – Kathy Goldsmith Fortner, Coatesville; daughter – Kelly Goodman and husband, Zachary, Linton; little buddy – Joe Volz, Fishers; stepsons – Michael Drury and wife, Tabitha, Plainfield and Matthew Capalla and significant other, Mary, Plainfield; mother – Barbara Brooks Mathias, Amo; 7 grandchildren; siblings – Harold Fortner and wife, Vonnie, Larry Fortner, Donnie Fortner, Angela Cyphers and husband, Orland, and Diane Fortner; father-in-law, Harold Goldsmith; sister-in-law, Pamela Goldsmith; several nieces and nephews; and beloved German Shepherd “Duke”. He was preceded by his father – Jessie Fortner, sister – Melinda Kenworthy, mother-in-law – Patsy Goldsmith, and best friend and cousin - Theodore “Teddy” Brooks.
