Gene Copeland, age 93, Amo, passed away Sunday at his residence. He was born in Martinsville, Indiana on May 9, 1929 the son of Oscar Lee and Mildred Josephine Keller Copeland. He was a veteran of the National Guard and worked various places including the Indiana Correction Facility in Plainfield and delivering flowers for Bud and Bloom Florist. He is survived by his children - Lorris Lee Copeland, Donna Brizendine, Russel Eugene Copeland, Allan T. Copeland, and Cherri L. Sellars; several grandchildren; Sister - Phyllis Smith; Brother - Dwayne Copeland; Step-son - Doug Casper and wife, Taunya; Son-in-law - Mike Brown; Step-grandchildren - Michael Jason "Mikey" Brown and wife, Missy, John Thomas "JT" Brown and wife, Carrie, Toby Rupe and husband, Joe, Jesse Gasper and wife, Cory, Tiffany Whitaker and husband, Joe, and Samantha Hedrick and husband, Logan; Step-great grandchildren - Zack Brown and wife, Alexia, Lexie Morris and husband, Michael, Jaylynn Brown, Zayne Brown, Jessie Gilmore, Kylie Rupe, AJ Gasper, Bradlee Gasper, Gracie Gasper, Hunter Gasper, Kyleigh Gasper, Emma Gasper, Madeline Whitaker, Sophie Hedrick, and Lainie Hedrick; Step great-great grandchildren - Brenleigh Jo Brown and Ryleigh Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and wives - Joan Copeland and Anna Sue Gasper Copeland. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville with Rev. Shelly Zook officiating. There will be no public visitation.
