Howard Lee Gibson passed away on October 22, 2024. He was born on August 22, 1937 in Lebanon, Virginia to Hazel (Dickenson) and Hobert Gibson. He was brother to Helen a Sutherlin, Lillian Wheeler, Hobert Hines Gibson Jr, Linda Lou Gibson and Kenneth Gibson.
Howard and his lovely wife of 64 years, Marilyn (Worthen) Gibson, lived and raised their two children, Howard Jr and Cori, in Alaska where he enjoyed building chalets and lodges, working as a jeweler, racing cars and go karts, and restoring cars.
After 43 years of Alaska life, Marilyn and Howard retired, bought an RV and left Alaska to explore the United States and eventually bought a 38 acre orange grove in Florida. After 20 years of living and working the grove together, they sold and hit the road again to see more of the country he loved.
Survivors include wife Marilyn Gibson; children Howard (Kathy) Gibson and Cori (Richard) Cook; grandchildren Jeremiah Allen Moreau, Mitchell Howard Gibson, Karen Marie Gibson, Leah Ann Gibson and Vincent Ian Cook; and great grandson Jacob Ivan Gibson.
Howard will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at 736 South County Rd 825 E, Fillmore, IN 46128 on Saturday, November 2nd from 2-4 pm. Bousley Funeral Home has been entrusted with Howard's care.
