James H. Carter, age 93, Coatesville, passed away Tuesday morning in the comfort of his home. He was born in Allen County, Kentucky on December 26, 1929 the son of James Clifton Carter and Alma Cline Carter. He worked at Chevy Truck and Bus for 33 years and also at A.H. Stanley Implements. He was also a farmer. He loved golfing, fishing and Della’s cooking. He was especially fond of having his feet under her table. He was a member of the Amo Baptist Church for many years and 17 year member of the Amo Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Della Carter; his children – Jackie Carter, Debbie Shepherd, Kevin (Julia) Carter, Susan Carter, and Tracey (Ronnie) Robinson; grandchildren – Jeremy, Martin, Chris, Ashley, Adam, and Amy; great-grandchildren – Jada, Wyatt, Kingston, Piper, Ella, Chloe, and Mia; and his sister – Carol (Raymond) Sheets. He was preceded by his parents, son – Doug Carter, and brother – Jerry Carter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville with burial to follow in the Amo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 PM.
