James Wilson “Jim” Creekbaum, 73, of Coatesville, Indiana, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born on February 18, 1953, to Emery “Duke” and Leona “Loni” Creekbaum in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Jim served in the United States Air Force and later as a Brownsburg Police Officer. He also worked with the Hendricks County Drug Task Force and owned several businesses, including Creekbaum-Wearly Monuments, private investigation services and the Buck Creek Trading Post in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and closest friends. His favorite place in the world was Lake Kagawong on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Lucenia “Lotis” Creekbaum; daughters, Janalyn Smith (Justin) and Jocelyn Appleton; stepchildren, Ken, Kaye Faith, and Zion Aragon; grandchildren, Clint Curtis and Jay Vanderjagt; and his sister, Joy Vannice (Don).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery “Duke” and Leona “Loni” Creekbaum; his siblings, Walter “Sonny” Creekbaum, Emilea “Sue” Butts, and Emery “Steve” Creekbaum; and his grandson, Marcus Appleton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Hendricks County American Legion Post 118 in Danville, Indiana, from 2:00–5:00 p.m.
