James A. Newman, age 95, Lexington, Ky, passed away Sunday morning in Lexington.
Born August 11, 1922 in Danville, IN, he was the son of Arthur Beeson Newman and Floy Marie (McVay) Newman. He married Audrey McClure on April 21, 1946 and she preceded him on February 3, 2003. Survivors includes a daughter Marie E. Newman and a son Paul S.
Newman, and a grandchild, Alex Newman. His parents and wife preceded him. James was a veteran serving in the US Navy during WWII. He had worked as a Extension Forester for University of Kentucky for 31 years and then as a Consultant for Willamette Industries
for 12 years. He organized the KY Forest Industries Association in 1965. He served as Chairman for Policy Committee KY Forest Council from 1972-1981. He was an honorary Secretary of State (KY) in 1980. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December
21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Coatesville Cemetery with military honors.
