Janet R. Spurlock, age 79, Coatesville, passed away Tuesday evening at Hendricks Regional Health. She was born on April 21, 1935 in Martinsville, IN the daughter of Forest and Inez Hacker Baker. She was a homemaker. Janet was a member of the Church of the Firstborn, Martinsville, loved Jesus and her family, talking to people, and gardening, especially daisies. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jesse “Dave” Spurlock who she married on October 2, 1955; Children – Diana (Kirk) Batten, Clayton, Kathy (Larry) Shaw, Coatesville, Peggy (Ken) Breece, Indianapolis, and Phillip (Ronda) Spurlock, Coatesville; Grandchildren – Lana Vazquez, North Salem, John David (Sarah) Leffler, Plainfield, Charity (Jeff) Coffman, Martinsville, Lance Shaw, Coatesville, Gabe Batten, Clayton, Jodi (Troy Gabbard) Breece, Dickinson, ND, Carrie Spurlock, Coatesville; Great-grandsons – Skyler Vazquez, North Salem, Cooper Coffman, Martinsville, and J.J. Leffler, Plainfield; Sisters – Mary Grace (John) Jackson and Sharon (Bill) Walls both of Martinsville; Brother – Jimmy (Nancy) Baker, Morgantown. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville with Brother Max Piercefield and Brother Stan White officiating. Burial will follow in Coatesville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 PM.
