John McCarty, Sr., age 63, Greencastle, passed away Monday afternoon at the Putnam County Hospital. Born June 20, 1958, he was the son of Willard Lee McCarty and Virginia (Todd) McCarty. Survivors include his children, Virginia Roy, Russell Springs, KY, John McCarty Jr and wife Allison, Coatesville, and Mitchell McCarty, Russell Springs, KY; 5 grandchildren; siblings, Loanna Welty, Dorothy Terrell, Martha McCarty, Harriett Schaffer, Charlene Crouch, Nadine Johnson, and Michael McCarty; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation is to take place and there are no services scheduled at this time.
