John Jacob Wehrman, age 85, died Sunday, November 29 at the “Owl Roost.” He was born at home in New Maysville to the late Jacob Russell Wehrman and Edna “Bunny” (Clay) Wehrman. He married Patricia Brown and she proceeded him in death.
Survivors include his children: Carla (Brad) Todd , Jeffrey (Marilyn) Wehrman, Jason (Amy) Wehrman; grandchildren: Jacob Markle, Britney Markle, Jordanne (Seth)Vondersaar, Miles, Brock, Erik Wehrman, Jaden Todd, Callie and Jenna Wehrman; 7 great-grandchildren; Siblings: twin brother James (Marlene), Donald “Booker”, Patsy Taylor, Robert (Wanda), and Janie Lukenbill; many nieces and nephews. John also leaves behind his faithful companion, his dog Milo.
John graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1954. He served in the Army from 1958-1960. He retired from IBM in Greencastle where he worked 1961-1987. He also worked for 10 years for the State of Indiana Highway Department. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 47 and Grace Baptist Church. He belonged to the Groveland Smokers CB Club and went by the CB handle “Wireman”.
John loved going camping and spending time with his family. He would never pass up, as he would say, “good eatin’.”
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1 from 4 to 8 pm at Bousley Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 1 pm. Pastor Bert Bunner officiating and Bruce Hale delivering the eulogy. His final resting place will be at New Maysville Cemetery.
