Kenneth Lynn Gill passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1950 to Inez (Landstoffer) and John Gill in Huntington, Indiana. Ken was married to the love of his life Carla (Miller) Gill for 31 years, and she survives him along with their children Hunter Mathias and Haley Lynn Gill. Ken was devoted to his family and made sure they felt loved every day.
Ken graduated from Indiana University and worked as a geologist. His early career took him around the country while working in the coal and petroleum industries with a winter spent in Alaska working on the gas pipeline. Ken eventually returned to Indiana while working in the environmental field. In his retirement he became a beekeeper.
Ken had a lifelong love of airplanes, taking flying lessons and obtaining his pilot's license while he was still in high school. He continued an adventurous life through traveling, spelunking, scuba diving, and hiking along with a later marriage and children. He was unendingly proud of Mathias and Haley while sharing his love of travel, classical music, books, science, and nature with them.
Friends and family can pay their final respects at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E Main St, Plainfield, IN 46168 on Friday, April 12 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00PM. Father Rob will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Roanoke, Indiana on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00AM. Bousley Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ken's care.
