Meredith Milo Kincaid passed away peacefully at Hendricks Regional Hospital on February 4, 2022 at 6:54 P.M.
He was the fourth son of Nara Neville Kincaid and Mabel Ethel (Hickson) Kincaid. He was born at their farm home in Boone County on November 18, 1935. His parents and three brothers Winfred Clark Kincaid, Harold Keith Kincaid and Wayne Hickson Kincaid have all
preceded his death.
He married Barbara Jean Sedwick on September 2, 1961. They spent 60 ½ years together with 54 years on their farm in Marion Township, Hendricks County. Milo and Barbara have two sons Bryant Dean of Bedford, Indiana and Brent Alan and daughter-in-law Lisa Renee
(Stipe) Kincaid of rural Danville. Grandchildren include granddaughter Aleisha Hurley, husband Jeff and great grandson David, granddaughter Brenna and Sierra Kincaid, all of Danville. Other family members are Madison Bayles and Brad Templeman and several nieces
and nephews. While growing up on a farm, he kept busy doing farm chores, taking care of livestock, spending time in the farm woods, hunting, trapping and raising rabbits. Milo attended a three room school the first eight years at Center School in Boone County.
He graduated from Kirklin High School in Clinton County in April 1953. He was active in FFA and received the state of Indiana “Hoosier Farmers” degree in 1953. He was a member of the varsity football team for four years and class president for three years.
Milo enrolled in Purdue University in 1955 and earned his way through Purdue by working three years on a private dairy farm for room and board while living on a budget of $5.00 per week. He graduated from Purdue in 1959 with a degree in Agriculture Education.
After graduation, he spent two years in the US Army serving most of that time near Paris, France at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) under NATO on the staff of General Lauris Norstad. Following his honorable discharge in March 1961, he taught
school one year of Vocational Agriculture and chemistry at Walnut Grove High School in Hamilton County. In August 1962 Milo started working for Indiana Farm Bureau where he spent 30 plus years and retired in 1994. He spent most of those working years representing
farm members on public policy issues at the local, state, and national levels. He and his wife Barbara purchased a small farm in Marion Township in 1968. He has always been involved in agriculture where he enjoyed watching the growth of plants and animals.
He also was a big fan of Purdue sports and Chicago Cubs baseball. Milo served the community on the County Cooperative Extension Board and received a State Friends of Extension Award in 1998. After retiring, he served on the Hendricks County Farm Board and
four years as president. Always a strong supporter of the FFA programs, he served on its local advisory board. He spent twelve years on the Danville Community School Board and served on the Indiana School State Board as president from 1986-1987. Milo and Barbara
spent parts of 23 winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. There, they met many good people and had many enjoyable times. He spent time playing bocce ball where he and various partners won the tourney three years. Milo was a member and attended regularly at Clayton
Christian Church. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church with viewing from 11:00 to 1:00. Gary Black will conduct the services. Bousley Funeral Home will handle the arrangements. Burial will be at the New Winchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
please make contributions to the Clayton Christian Church or Friends of Danville FFA.
