Noble O. Van Hook, age 88, of Coatesville, passed away February 1, 2017 in the Mill Pond Nursing Home in Greencastle. Born February 22, 1928 in Somerset, KY, he was the son of Josiah Van Hook and Bertha (O’Neil) Van Hook. He married Norene Carlton on April 1,1966 and she survives. Noble had worked for the Hendricks County Highway Department, then construction work before going to work for 12 years at Rexnard. He enjoyed Blue Grass Music, mushroom hunting, and was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Norene, the 4 children he raised - Nora Tucker and husband Mike, Bainbridge, Nicole Gibson and companion Mark Wilson, Danville, Erica Kay Thompson, Crawfordsville, and Erin Batta and husband Adam, Greencastle, and a grandson Stephen Gibson and companion Anna Kestler, Coatesville; grandchildren – Stephen Gibson, Dani Heller, Alex Heller, Altera Harris, Cheyenne Gibson, Autumn Thompson, Mikey Thompson, Reilly Tucker, Shaylee Aker, Adrien Aker, and Braylon Batta; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Onvie Van Hook, Somerset, KY, Jessie Cox, Brownsburg, and Wanda Fuqua, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Beulah Bumgardner, Arlis Van Hook, Edna Mounce, Harold Van Hook, Orville Van Hook, Agnes Herrin, Howard Lee Van Hook, 3 infant siblings, and a great grandson Julian Thomas Maynard. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, from 1 until 4 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bill Purcell officiating. Family burial services will be held in the Coatesville Cemetery.
