Norman L. Correll, age 90, of Avon, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana. Born September 23, 1926 in Bridgeport, Nebraska he was the son of Bernard Correll and Elsie (Riddle) Correll. He married Norma Shoff on July 9, 1946 who proceeded him in death March 25, 2008. Norman served in the Navy during World War II. Beginning in 1948 he was an ordained Minister with the Nebraska District Assemblies of God, Evangelist, and Missionary (Tanzania, East Africa and four years in Brussels, Belgium as the Dean of Evangelism with International Correspondence Institute). Traveling around the world serving the Assemblies of God World Missions Department, he planted churches and established Bible colleges in East Africa. In the late 1990's he helped develop the Bible school in Addis Ababa. He also developed and oversaw the Ambassadors In Missions (AIM) and Mobilization And Placement Service (MAPS) programs. Norman's greatest desire in this life was for each person he met to hear the name of Jesus and to know that God loved them. From the late 1940s until this past Tuesday, that desire remained the same. Hours before he left this side of Heaven, his daughter in law, Sheli turned on piano worship music and asked him if it reminded him of Norma. With eyes closed he deeply sighed and a smile graced his face. Gently he nodded his head and moved his mouth as he sang the words to the songs in his heart. Survivors include daughter, Joylene S.
