Orville Woodrow “Woody” Bacon, age 69, Danville, formerly of Amo passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was born on June 22, 1944 the son of Manson Orville and Georgia C. Whitaker Bacon. He had worked as a mechanic at Pence Olds in Danville for 26 years.
He was a member of Amo Baptist Church, was with the Amo Volunteer Fire Dept for 16 years where he held several offices, and was with Danville Fire for 2 years. He helped with the Amo Girls Softball and helped with mowing the diamonds for several years.
Survivors: Wife – Julie Anne Burch Bacon, who he married Dec. 3, 1976 ; Children – Angela S. (Folkert) Pascal, Netherlands, Timothy (Patti) Baldwin , Amo, Marsha (Matthew) Liles, Amo, Jamie Keyt Doub, North Salem, and Madonna Webster, Terre Haute; Grandchildren
– Nichole, Derek, Bret, Brandon, Jasmine, Josh, Justin, Zac, Cassandra, Steven, Melissa, Heather, and Shawn; Great-grandchildren – Claire, Chase, Grace, Madison, Dallas, Hailey, Luke, and Jayden; Mother-in-law – Dollie Burch, Amo; Brothers – Alton “Leroy”
(Bonnie) Bacon, Plainfield, Michael Bacon, Crawfordsville, and Danny Bacon, Greencastle; Sisters – Cora (Steve) Spires, Bedford, Wilma (Bryan) Matney, Garnet Bacon, and Roberta “Jeannie” (Clifford) Burdine, all of Plainfield, and Goldie (Ron) Watts, Fillmore;
several nieces and nephews; Brother-in-law – Mike (Susie) Burch, Amo, and Sister-in-law – Rosie (Tom) Bell, Clayton. He was preceded by his Parents, Father-in-law – Hubert Burch, Son-in-law – Todd Wingler, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will
be held on Monday, August 12, at 11:00 AM at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial will be in Amo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. There will be a firemens memorial service at 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral
home.
