Phillip R. Bush, age 87, of Bainbridge, Indiana passed away on October 2, 2025. He was born on November 11th, 1937 in Paris, Illinois to Ora and Golden (Todd) Bush. He worked as a private investigator before becoming Vice President at North Salem State Bank (Tri-County) in 1970, which is also where he retired from. Phil was an avid fisherman. He won several bass tournaments. He enjoyed playing golf and had two holes in one over the years; his last one was just in 2024 at the age of 86. He also enjoyed playing poker where he was known for always having a good hand. He loved gardening, and sharing what he grew with others. Phil was known for his joke telling and quick witted humor. He didn’t know a stranger. We will miss his “weather reports” and “sports updates” as well as hearing him tell us daily, “Nutin' goin' on”.
He will be dearly missed by daughters Robin (Dave) Myers, Tammy Marsteller and fiancée Rodney Hettler, and Teri (Joe) Tesmer. Phil had 4 Grandsons, and 7 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 47 years, Betty, along with two siblings, Shirley Ogden, of Illinois, and Jay Bush of Florida.
Phil's family chose to honor his wishes to be cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at Bousley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 9, 6-8PM.
