Robert Francis Wolfe, age 89, North Salem, passed away Monday morning November 20, 2017. He was born in Tipton County at home on January 8, 1928, the son of Maurice Milton and Izadora (Boyd) Wolfe. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1946, and then
served in the Army Corps of Engineers in the Philippines until May, 1947. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He married Alice Marie Washer on March 24, 1951. The couple lived in Chicago and Iowa before returning to
central Indiana. Early in his career, Robert worked for Swift and Company, Doane Agricultural Service, the County Extension Service and Blue River Feed Company. He was the president of the Greencastle, IN branch of Federal Land Bank Association, a farm mortgage
company, where he worked until early retirement in 1985. He had his own business as a farm appraiser until full retirement at the age of 80. Robert was a devoted husband and father of six children. He was a member of the Coatesville United Methodist Church.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Alice Marie (Washer) Wolfe, his parents, Maurice Milton and Izadora (Boyd) Wolfe and his sister, Wanda (Wolfe) Chambless. He is survived by his brother, Walter (Joan) Wolfe; children- Curtis (Diane) Wolfe,
Marla-Ann (Samuel Scott) Cooprider, Bruce (Angie) Wolfe, James Wolfe, Valerie (Bob) Conner, and Muriel (Chris) Coston; Grandchildren- Eric Wolfe, Jenny (Aaron) Brown, Chris Wolfe, Laura (Wes) Wilson, Michael (Shelby) Cooprider, Kayla Coston, Kelly Coston,
Michael Conner, and Caleb (Leah) Murray; Great-grandchildren-Lydia and Alexis “Lexi” Brown.
Gathering of friends: Friday Nov. 24th from 10:00 to 11:00am at Coatesville United Methodist Church, Coatesville, IN, followed by a memorial/ time of sharing. Inurnment/Graveside services: Friday Nov. 24th at 3:00pm at Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, IN. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to Coatesville United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
