Shirley F Wilson, 81, of Danville, Indiana, passed from her temporary home with us to her eternal home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on March 7, 2026. Born in Jackson, Michigan, Shirley also lived in Elkhart, Indiana, where she raised her family and was active in her church and community. Later, she moved to Nashville, TN, before settling in central Indiana. After graduating from Western Michigan University, she earned her master’s degree in education and held various teaching positions throughout her life. She also loved writing and published many articles and short stories. She took great joy in hiking, bike riding, birdwatching, and tending her beautiful flower garden each year. Her days were brightened by the constant companionship of her two cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Zella Wilson and her brother, Fred Phillips. She is survived by daughters Debbie Riepe (Mike), Julie Burnham, Marcy Shepard (Tony), Katy Bressler (Jim) and son Jeff Burnham. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 pm on Friday, March 13, at Calvary Chapel of Danville, Indiana, followed by a memorial service. Bousley Funeral Home was entrusted with Shirley's care.
