Wanda Lou Evens, age 73, Fillmore, passed away Saturday morning at Hendricks Regional Health. She was born in Putnam County, IN on May 27, 1941 the daughter of Earl A. and Nellie May Heavin Nichols. She graduated Belle Union High School in 1959 and was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of the ABC circle. She is survived by her husband, Paul Evens, who she married on July 9, 1961; Son – David Evens, Greencastle; Daughter – Peggy Bush and husband, Jim, Huntington, IN; Grandchildren – James and Samantha Evens and Alex and Joshua Bush; Brother – Max Nichols and wife, Jackie, Coatesville; Sisters – Waneta Gray, Greencastle, and Shelby Spencer and husband, Don, Coatesville. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Brothers – Clifford, Kendall, and Charles Nichols, and infant siblings – Verlin Ray and Vivian Kay Nichols. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Bethel Baptist Church (Crossroads location) with Pastor Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
