Arvist Ray Ford Sr of Danville passed away in his home on April 19, 2024. He was born on January 30, 1936 to Addie (Gifford) and Alonzo Ford in Oxford, Arkansas. Ray leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Brenda (Morris) Ford, children Arvist Ford Jr, Lorna (Carlos) Rigney, and Shannon (James) Fiest; grandchildren Jonathon Elliott (Brianna), Shane Rigney, April Rigney, Matthew Rigney, Tifny (Jamin) Hoppel, and Benjamin (Shelby) Fiest; great grandchildren Madilyn Elliott, LJ Elliott, Carson Winslow, Greycen Elliott, Jayden Hoppel, and Gatlin Hoppel.
Ray worked as a crane operator for General Motors and served his country in the Army. He loved animals, especially horses. He spent time tinkering on cars, enjoying Western shows, listening to his genre of rock/roll and country music, bird watching, and mowing the grass. Ray enjoyed sports, particularly college basketball. He loved the Lord and enjoyed watching Swaggert Ministries. He was planning to be a member of Life Spring Church where his wife attends. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
Bousley Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ray's care. Visitation will be held at Lifespring Church, 1717 US-36, Bainbridge, IN 46105 on Wednesday, April 24, 2-4 PM with funeral service at 4PM. Pastor Ira Sandefer will officiate. Cremation will follow.
