Carl E. “Gene” Cordray, age 83, Greencastle, passed away Sunday evening. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 1, 1940 the son of Carl and Mary Ball Cordray. He had worked for General Motors for 30 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Carl was a member of the Amo Baptist Church and had been a Volunteer Fireman and EMT for the Mill Creek Fire District. He and his wife had ran Cordray U-pick Strawberries in Coatesville. He is survived by his children – Robin McEnulty, Greencastle, and Kevin (Shelli) Cordray, KS; grandchildren – Sarah (Tim) Burdine, Kelli (Will) Tipton, Kylie Cordray, and Chelcie Cordray; great-grandchildren – Dean, Derek, Dalton, and Carlee Burdine, Connor Tipton, and Liam Cordray; Sister – Sue Hackett; brother-in-law Larry (Jean) Bryant; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife – Marian Jo Bryant Cordray.
Visitation will be held at the Bousley Funeral Home in Coatesville on Thursday, February 8 from 4-8PM with funeral on Friday the 9th at 11AM. Burial at Mill Creek Cemetery will follow.
