Christopher Mitchell, age 69, of Clayton, passed away Wednesday night, March 1, 2023 in his residence. Born December 6, 1953 in Beech Grove; he was the son of Homer Mitchell and Mary (Magill) Hedgspeth. Christopher worked as a mechanic at Yellow Freight. He also owned a body shop in Amo for 35 years. Survivors include his mother, Mary Hedgspeth; girlfriend Margaret Caudill; grandson, Dustin Mitchell, Darion Sillery, Ethan Polly, Haylee Melton, Evan Polly, Allie Melton, Haiden Melton, Kyrstin Polly, James Caudill, Joshua Caudill, Jaxson Caudill; great grandson Klayton Dietz; brothers David, Justin and Bryan Mitchell; sister Yvonne Cady; step children Travis Melton, Ashley Polly, Ashley Caudill, Josh Caudill and Steven Melton; and several nieces and nephews. His father and 2 children, David and Donna Mitchell preceded him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11 from 11 AM to 1 PM with funeral service at 1 PM. Reverend Shelly Zook will officiate. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bousley Funeral Home.
