Obit to run next paper, Donald Wager, Bousley Funeral Home
Donald Wager, age 92, of Greencastle, passed away June 22, 2018 in the Mill Pond Rehabilitation Center. Born October 28, 1925 in Dawson, Minnesota, he was the son of Elmer Wager and Helen (Hanson) Wager. He married Marilyn Brattain and she survives. Donald served in the Merchant Marine Corp and also the Army during WWII. He met his wife at Minnesota Bible College and they were married May 17, 1953 and just celebrated their 65 year anniversary. He worked as payroll accountant at IBM. He raised horse’s Hackney Ponies his entire life. He enjoyed music and singing. Don was a well known gospel singer and sang in churches from Minnesota to Indiana. He was a founding member of the Greencastle Christian Church and served as a deacon and elder. Survivors in addition to his wife include 2 sons, Mark A. Wager and wife Cindy, Greencastle, and Lynn Wager, Fillmore; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchild; siblings Arlys Saoi, S.D., Betty Maynard, Minnesota, Bonita Brandon, S.D., and Paul Wager, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him. Visitation will be held June 27th in the Greencastle Christian Church from 4 to 7 PM. Services will be at 7 PM with Pastor Mark Wager officiating. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date. Bousley Funeral Home in Coatesville assisted with arrangements.
