EARL PORTER WHITE Age 98, a native of Edmonson County Kentucky, passed away Wednesday October 19, 2022 while surrounded by his loving wife Minnie Pearl of 22years and his family, friends and special care given by his niece Sharon Weikel while at home in Clayton IN.
Earl was a retired GM crane operator of 40 years. He was also a farmer with his 2 sons for many years. He was a charter member at West Bridge Church in Danville IN. He was also a member of Grace Baptist church in Coatesville IN.
He was survived by his 4 children, Dennis (Sandy) White, Patty Beck, Randall (Linda) White, Teresa (Eric) York; Step Children Victoria (Jason) Kehrein, Teresa (Darrell) Jackson, Barbara (Jim) Navarrette, George (Mindy) Burnett. He had 17 grandchildren Andrea (Bob) Burrrell, Alan (Connie) White, Cherie (Tony) Ballard, David Schmitt Jr., Shanna (Sean) Firebaugh, Casey (Dustin) Flanagan, Brandy Hessler, Randall Rhea Jr. (Lisa) White, Amber Volz, Deanna White and Dalton, Samantha (Kevin) Cooper, Sabrina (Jody) Harvey, Nathan (Brooke) Trissel, Steve Trissel and Beth, Tiffany Trissel, Joshua (Mattilanne) Humphress, Brittany Humphress, Destiny Humphress and Levi, Bethany (Joe) Mundy, Brittany (Jesse) York and Kelsea York. He had many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren which meant a blessed 5 generations of precious little ones! He also leaves behind siblings John, Roy and Margie. He was preceded in death by his late wife of 49 years Marjorie, his daughter Cheryl, his parents, Jess and Chlorene White, his sister Zolene White, and Elena Finchum, brothers Randall, Eugene, Curtis, Duval and Mills White.
Earl was proud to have served his country in World War II, The Greatest Generation! He was in the 16th Armory Division under General Patton. He was very pleased to have been able to spend the cold Indiana winters in sunny Florida for 15 years, where he spent many hours playing shuffle board and going to music jams with his many friends and wife.
Visitation will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM with a funeral service to begin at 1:30 PM with Pastor Bert Brunner and Pastor Jon McDugle officiating. Burial will be on Monday, October 24, 2022 with a Military graveside service to honor Earl at the Cub Creek Cemetery in Edmonson Co, Huff Kentucky at 3PM (CST) officiated by his nephew, pastor Dave Finchum. Services have been entrusted to Bousley Funeral Home Coatesville Indiana.
