Gerald “Jerry” A. Baker, age 57 of Reelsville IN, passed away Sunday evening at his residence after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born in Niles, MI on October 13, 1959, the son of George and Edna Baker. He retired from Verizon Wireless in 2011 as a RF Engineer. After retirement he carried out his dream of opening a bait shop, Buck and Dumb Bass Outdoors in Cloverdale IN. Jerry’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling. He also got the most joy out of spending time with family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cloverdale and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Greencastle, IN. He is survived by his wife – Teresa Hemphill Baker; Daughters – Ashley (Joe) Jones of Cloverdale, and Emily (Dayne) Nelson of Greencastle; Grandchildren – Easton and Luke Jones, Kennedy Nelson; Sister – Glenda (Mark) Yarrish, Niles, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 12th at the American Legion in Cloverdale from 4-7pm. Arrangements were handled by Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville.
