Bousley Funeral Home Imogene Kiger, age 99, died March 17, 2017 in the evening or as the sun was setting for the day. She was tired and had a worn out body. Just a natural death. She was born April 4, 1917 in Hendricks County the second daughter of Emery and Ella Kersey Ader. The family moved to Floyd Township, Putnam County, when she was eighteen months old and lived in the same home for eighty three years. Imogene graduated from Fillmore High School and took two years of teachers training at Central Normal College in Danville. She taught two years before her marriage to William F. Kiger on August 27, 1939. He passed in December 2005. She later earned her BS Degree from Indiana State College in 1967. She taught 21 years between 4 different schools, grades second thru fourth. Besides teaching she was a farmers wife and a very good Mother to her 4 sons. Survivors include: Brother-in-law – Don Kiger, Greencastle; Sons – Vincent Allen (Maria) Kiger, Danville, and Michael R. (Marcia) Kiger, Indianapolis. Two sons preceded her – Steven Wayne (2003) and Richard Glen (2014) along with a Great-grandson – Freddie Diem (2003). Others survivors include 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Imogene was a member of the Coatesville Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM , Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Pastor Brian Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers donate to your favorite charity.
