James Sheldon Sprinkle of Quincy, Indiana joined his beloved wife Connie in heaven the evening of Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born the fifth child of Thomas A. and Minnie McGinnis Sprinkle on December 11, 1936 in Tell City, Perry County, Indiana. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Oil Township High School. He worked at his family's farm and a local timber company until 1963. Afterwards, Jim went on to work as a Conservation Officer for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. He was assigned to southern Putnam County and northern Owen County. During his 32 year career, he was able to assist with water rescues and other heroic acts.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Minnie Sprinkle; the love of his life, wife Consuella Lee Clark Sprinkle; brothers Marion Alfred Sprinkle, Thomas Alfred Sprinkle Jr, Thurman Edward Sprinkle; sisters Mary Elizabeth Sprinkle Howe Raley, Wilma E Sprinkle, Mermon Olive Sprinkle, and Judy Ann Sprinkle. Survivors include sons James Thomas Sprinkle of Adolphus, KY, Troy Sprinkle of Paragon, IN, and Travis (Sandra) Sprinkle of Cloverdale, IN; grandchildren Madison (Miranda) Sprinkle of Columbus, IN, Jared (Macy) Sprinkle of Portland, TN, Mark Sprinkle of Quincy, IN, Jamalynn Sprinkle of Bowling Green, KY, Clay Sprinkle of Adolphus, KY and Jill Sprinkle of Adolphus, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Spencer First Church of the Nazarene, 126 E. Market St, Spencer, IN 47460, Saturday, November 15, 1-3PM with funeral at 3PM. Pastor Bruce Yates will officiate. Jim will be laid to rest with honors from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources at New Union Cemetery in Spencer following the funeral. Bousley Funeral Home has been entrusted with Jim's care.
