Lawrence Alan "Duke" Newlin, age 62, Danville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN on November 10, 1960. Duke worked in construction most of his life. He most recently retired from Wurster Construction after more than 20 years. In his spare time he could be found at sporting events as his kids grew up. He also spent a lot of time doing woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife - Tamela "Tammy" Hendricks Newlin. They were married on October 5, 1996 in Danville, IN and spent over 26 years together. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons - Kyle (Melissa) Newlin, Robert (Megan) Carter, Charles Newlin, and Cody (Stefany) Newlin and his daughter - Lacie Newlin. Dukes greatest joy was being a Papaw!. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his grandkids -Kannon, Gavin, Autumn, Mia, Sapphire, Carlee, Georgia, Lilly, Logan, Lauryn and Layton. Also surviving are his brothers - Mike Newlin, Jack (Debbie) Newlin, John (Joanna) Newlin, Dean (Joan) Wilson, and Jeff (Denise) Wilson and his sisters - Susan Davis, Debbie Otenburg, Cheryl (Wes) Baker, Trudy (Ron) Earley, and Rita (Elvie) Donell. He will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law - Billie Boller Hendricks and brother-in-law - Tim (Marian) Hendricks, plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father - Lawrence Newlin, his mother - Delores Pickett Wilson, step-father - Floyd Wilson, brother - Floyd Wilson, sister-in-law - Jeanette Newlin, his father-in-law - Steve Hendricks, and a granddaughter - Khloe Newlin. The family held a time of private visitation and plan to have a public Celebration of Life at a later date. The family entrusted Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville with the final arrangements.
