Ronald G. Meek, age 80, of Rossville, IN, passed away peacefully at 11:35 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Lafayette, IN. Born July 27, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Olive G. (Lisby) Meek. Ronald was a 1956 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. He also attended Indiana University and St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN. His marriage of 48 years was to Verna Sophie (Smith) Meek of Belize City, Belize, C.A. , and she survives. Also surviving in addition to his wife are their sons, Ryan Andrew and his wife Julie, Philip Anthony and his wife Kelly, and David Ashley and his wife Christie; and several wonderful grandchildren, Luke, Mason, Dylan, Marshall, Kathryn, Andrew and Gwyneth, in whom Ronald received special delight. Also surviving him is a brother Richard D. Meek and several cousins. Preceding him in death besides his parents were an older sister and brother, Patricia L. Lynch and Duane E. Meek. Ronald worked most of his life in the Industrial Processing Equipment Supply Field, mostly specializing in the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries. He loved that work and during the other times he very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his wife and family on their little farm outside of Rossville. He was an avid reader. He loved church history, church music, and good liturgy, saying he thought it pleased God when our sacrifice of praise was done in good taste; do your best for the King of Glory. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 2 PM with Bishop Emeritus William L. Higi officiating at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 1212 South St, Lafayette, IN with a visitation from 10 am until 1:30 PM Thursday. Those coming for Mass only please park off 11th St. Those coming for viewing please park off of South St. Burial will be on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore, IN. The Bousley Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
