Thelma Elaine Lisby rested in the arms of Jesus as she passed away on September 24th. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Harold, who met Jesus on November 1, 2012. God blessed her with 99 years of abundant life, 78 of those with Harold. A harder worker none could find. Thelma’s various jobs included farmhand, cook, maid, babysitter, counselor, banker, nurse, teacher and cheerleader. She held all of these jobs as a housewife on the family farm. A sweeter woman none can find. Thelma was obedient to God’s command for us to serve others. She was selfless with her time, home, money, possessions and most of all food. She loved taking care of others. God rewarded her by making it possible for her to pass peacefully in her home she held so dear. She leaves behind two daughters, Doris (Wendell) Ratcliff, Fillmore, and Kitzie (George) Pallas, Branford, CT; her six grandchildren include Derek (Amy) Ratcliff, Brazil, Garrett (Gina) Ratcliff, Brazil, Nicki (Tim) Weaver, Brownsburg, Wendy (Chris) Danner, Fillmore, Aaron (Cherida) Pallas, Indianapolis and Doug (Michelle) Pallas, Wallingford, CT along with ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 28th at 4:30 P.M. at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville with Pastor Kevin Thompson officiating. Calling will be from 1:00 – 4:30 at the funeral home Sunday. The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Fillmore Alumni Association c/o Putnam County Foundation or to the Canaan Church Building Restoration Fund.
