Virginia L Singleton “Ginny with a G” on Saturday, May 16,2026 leapt from her power chair and ran to her Savior in Heaven. Muscular Dystrophy was released from her body with the Grace of Healing from God. Ginny was a 4-year graduate of IU nursing and worked 29 years as a surgery nurse. She was very good with her occupation and respected by doctors and staff.
On February 14th she married William “Billy” C Singleton at the Hazelwood Christian Church. They met in late October 1970 on a blind date and were married in February of 1971. They were married 55 years without a major fight and continued a nice courtship until she passed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was respected by everyone, was very smart and was kind to everyone. She loved the Lord above it all.
Ginny was born in Indianapolis on December 21, 1948. She was premature but was strong and grew up quickly. She was the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Walter) Shafer who are both deceased. She had a brother, David Shafer who is also deceased.
She has a son Andrew William, daughter-in-law Corrie, and grandson Henry.
She has a daughter Jennifer Kay Croan, son-in-law Scott, grandson Lincoln and granddaughter Allison LeBlanc, grandson-in-law Aidan, and great grandson Avery. Avery was her only Great Grandson.
We will have a gathering at Bousley Funeral home on Friday, May 22 from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock with a small service at 7 PM .
