William "Bill" Howard Nelson of Plainfield passed away on May 6, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1936, to Elva (Wilson) and William Nelson in Raccoon, Indiana. Bill served his country as a member of the Air Force for 4 years. He went on to work as an electrical mechanic for the power company in Plainfield.

He is survived by his wife Shirley (Winnett) Nelson of 41 years, son Brian Nelson; and 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Elva Nelson, first wife Betty (Cress) Nelson, and his son Bruce Nelson.

Bill chose to be cremated and his ashes laid to rest next to Betty and Bruce. His memorial service will be held at Bousley Funeral Home on Friday, May 10. Visitation will take place from 11am to 12:30, a short service at 12:30 and graveside service at 1pm at Amo Cemetery. Shawn McConaughy will officiate.
